Partnerships

As part of our core offer to learners, we provide access to specialists in each of our vocational fields. Below is a little bit about each of our teaching partners:

Communigrow

Learners studying Horticulture visit Communigrow on a weekly basis. Here, skilled and experienced gardeners like Paul and Sue teach the knowledge and skills that our learners need to complete their City and Guilds accreditation and give them the foundations required for a possible future career in gardening.

Communigrow is a fabulous resource offering gardening opportunities to a wide variety of local groups. They host regular events and produce sales, details of which can be found on their website

Skills For Employment

Skills for employment employ tutors with trade and construction industry experience to teach their skills to learners across a range of school and college settings, including Grow 19. Skills for Employment work with the Construction and Horticulture team on-site and in the community to complete projects, teach them new skills, help prepare them for practical employment and achieve City and Guilds accreditation.

East Malling Centre Café

The volunteer run café, based on the same site as the college, offers local residents, as well as our learners, a fantastic place to meet and enjoy a healthy, reasonably priced meal or a drink. Liz, who runs the café, provides tuition and training to our learners who are working towards City and Guilds accreditation in Catering and Hospitality. The group has access to the kitchen when the café is closed so they can practice in a commercial setting and also help Liz to run the kitchen when there are events taking place. The café also offers work experience to some of our learners. For more information about the café and upcoming events there, visit their website
